Case Study: 'Cyberpet' Awareness campaign

In conjunction with the new Animal Welfare Act law for pet owners, the RSPCA conducted an awareness campaign encouraging pet owners to “know your pet”.

As well as a standalone website featuring detailed content educating owners about the responsibilities of owning a pet, Tangent One developed the Cyberpet. A Flash application downloaded to the user’s desktop, the ever-present virtual dog, cat or rabbit must be kept healthy and happy through regular interaction, according to the five welfare needs. The Cyberpet moves and makes noises to communicate with the user.
