- RSPCA goes to the dogs with mobile phones12th August 2008
-
We’ve launched new mobile phone based game called MobiDog today for the RSPCA to help spread the message of responsible pet ownership.
Following the success of the Cyberpet – a pet that lives on your desktop and needs to be looked after - the RSPCA decided to create a new tool for mobile phones.
“The aim of the game is to educate the user on the Animal Welfare Act 2006 which places a ‘duty of care’ on pet owners to ensure they look after their pet,” said Helen Ball, RSCPA campaigner.
“The main aim is to convey, in an entertaining way, an animal’s prime welfare needs, which includes the need for food and water, shelter, exercise, and companionship and veterinary care when necessary. Mobidog is interactive, playful and educational, with a competitive slant which we hope will help get the message about looking after pets properly to a young audience.”

- Faber and Faber launch dynamic new site26th June 2008
-
Faber and Faber, the UK’s leading independent book publisher, has launched a brand new site created and built by us.
The new website, which includes fully integrated e-commerce, represents a complete re-think of Faber’s web presence, and places its digital strategy at the heart of all of its marketing activity.
The new site provides a platform for Faber Finds, the groundbreaking print-on-demand imprint for out of print books, and is the primary channel through which these can be purchased. Readers will be encouraged to nominate books to bring back into print, and also to provide additional information, wiki-style, on the books being published in the imprint, creating a unique forum for both readers and authors.
The ability for users to browse for titles has been increased considerably; all titles can be searched for by detailed categorisation and through the use of tagging.
This new site enables Faber to make available far more supporting content, including short films, author interviews, podcasts and a new blog written by authors and Faber editors.
A dedicated Faber Kids section has been created, with a new brand identity especially developed by Lateral for use both on and off line.

The website will feature news and views from Piatkus staff, readers and authors, and will maintain a distinctive visual identity, following the approach taken by Little, Brown imprints Orbit and Virago on their websites.

Lateral has redesigned the website for Little, Brown, the book publisher whose authors include Margaret Atwood, Alexander McCall Smith and Nelson Mandela. The launch follows the acquisition of the Little, Brown by Britain’s largest publishing group, Hachette Livre UK.
The website is aimed at consumers, existing and prospective authors, and book trade professionals. With branding by design agency Unreal, the content includes blogs, videos, book extras, interviews, commissioned articles and competitions. The project also involved the development of a content management system and the implementation of e-commerce functionality.
“The look and feel of the site reflects that bookshop experience – where you browse the titles, pick one up that that takes your fancy, and examine it in more depth,” says Mathew Riley, Group Account Director at Lateral.
Roger Cazalet, Group Marketing Director at Little, Brown, says that Lateral has helped the company transform from a business to a consumer website: “The new site has a fabulous structure that has a simple front end, with a natural flow for users and a high degree of editorial content.”
